Summary:
We are presenting for your review, calculations to support a salary increase for the 2017-2018 school year. The District budgets using conservative anticipated revenue based on preliminary tax rolls and projected expenditures. We are using the current year revenue template given the fact that we are awaiting the certified tax rolls and the outcome of the Legislature.
Budgetary Impact:
With May tax rolls and calculating ADA using historical data and demographer's opinion, the General Operating Fund (GOF) Budget is showing a positive budget by $556,363. The GOF projected expense budget will increase by $1,050,419 for every 1% (one percent) of an employee pay increase.
Recommendation
The district recommends approval of a 3% (three percent) employee pay increase; giving all staff a 3% (three percent) increase; and pay grades increasing by 1.5% (one and a half percent).
