Clayton YES
Clayton is a paid internship position as an after school care provider. This opportunity will be offered to all 38 students enrolled in the Education and Training and the Human Services Practicum at BRJ. The internship will be offered as an after school opportunity. Students will provide their own transportation. There is no associated cost to the district.

Angel’s Dog Spaw
Students participating will learn basic dog grooming skills. There will be 8-10 Agricultural Science students participating in a rotation each Tuesday and Thursday. The only associated cost will be transportation.

Texas Health Huguley Hospital
The students of Health Science Practicum have the opportunity to participate in clinical rotations on Thursday and Friday in beginning in October. There will be approximately 104 students participating on a rotating basis. The cost to the district will be transportation. Students will rotate between this internship and Crowley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and will be supervised by Health Science teachers.

Crowley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center
The students of Health Science Practicum have the opportunity to observe many aspects of health care during the clinical rotations at Crowley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. These clinical rotations will begin on Thursday and Friday in October. There will be approximately 104 students participating and they will go to Crowley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on a rotating basis. The cost to the district will be transportation utilizing a Durham bus. The students will rotate bi-weekly to the site. Students will rotate between this internship and Crowley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and will be supervised by Health Science teachers.

Crowley E-Repair Shop
The Crowley E-Repair Shop will provide innovative repair services for cell phones, tablets, laptops and many other electronic devices. Students will learn and experience high quality customer service, high industry standards and educate the community on electronic repairs. Students will have the opportunity to drive their personal vehicle and/or use the CISD Suburban for transportation. This internship opportunity will be offered to 10-12 students enrolled in Computer Maintenance and Information Technology classes at BRJ. They will rotate through the internship for approximately four hours each week (Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday) at the Crowley E Repair.

Tarrant County Sheriff Department:
This program offers students experience as a Detention Officer with the Tarrant County Sheriff Department. Students will be eligible to obtain a license with the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement for Detention Officers. There will be 12-15 students participating in the Tarrant County Training Academy. Students will attend 2-4 hours per week during the Fall semester of 2017 starting mid-September through December 2017. In the Spring semester, students will attend 8 hours per week which are required hours to take the state exam. Students will take the certification exam at no cost to CISD or students. Transportation will be provided.

Youth Entrepreneurs provides an introduction to business, economics, and entrepreneurship to high school students. There will be 24 students enrolled in a Practicum course that will experience this program.
 
Budgetary Impact:
Transportation costs to internships offered during the school day.
