Summary: A committee was formed in October of 2016 to explore the possibility of opening an employee child care center in Crowley ISD. The committee presented its findings to the Board at the February 9, 2016 Board meeting. The committee's proposal and recommendation from that meeting are attached.
Budgetary Impact: Total initial start up costs are estimated at $598,494, which includes facility renovations and classroom furniture and equipment funded from capital bond dollars, as well as $6,879 from general fund. First year expenses are estimated to be $388,449 and estimated revenue is projected to be $464,453. This provides for a projected first year positive revenue. Additional budget details were presented to Trustees on February 9, 2017 and are included as part of the exhibit document.
Recommendation: Recommend approval of opening an Employee Child Care Center housed at Jackie Carden Elementary in August 2017 as presented.
