Summary: We are completing year two of our second five-year agreement with Aramark to provide district-wide Child Nutrition Services. Our partnership with Aramark began in the 2010-11 school year with our first five-year, annually renewable agreement expiring in June 2015.

The Texas Department of Agriculture oversees the outsourcing of Child Nutrition Services and utilizes a five (5) year, annually renewable agreement.

We are very pleased with the overall level of performance from Aramark and would like to exercise the second renewal option for the 2017-18 school year. A formal recommendation for renewal will be presented for your approval at the April 27 Board meeting.
Budgetary Impact: For the current 2016-17 school year, Aramark guaranteed a return to the District of $900,000.
As in prior years, a portion of that return will be reinvested into the food service program.
For the current 2016-17 school year, approximately $600,000 has already been reinvested in the program. Some examples are as follows:
• Digital Menu Boards
• Additional food choices (i.e. Pizza Line, Stir-Fry Station)
• New vending machines
• Miscellaneous small wares and replacement equipment
• Additional serving lines at CH9 and CHS
• Miscellaneous computers and POS/Office equipment
