Summary: Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Policy Update 107 is being submitted for your review. The Localized Policy Update includes the Vantage Points, the Policy Update Manual with Explanatory Notes and the modifications for the proposed changes to local policy from TASB. TASB Policy Updates also include legal policy changes mandated by recent legislation. The Cabinet has reviewed all proposed local policy updates and their recommendations are included for your consideration. In addition to TASB's recommended changes to DFAA (Local), it is recommended that the verbiage "or designee" be added to be consistent with verbiage in Board Policy DFBA (Local). This additional change to DFAA (Local) is indicated in the attachment. The Cabinet has also reviewed all legal policy changes and a summary is provided for your review and information in the attached Legal Policy Review and Implementation Chart.
