This is a request to send one of our Campus Instructional Technologist, Michelle Bothel, to attend Apple Academy in Cupertino, California to become an Apple Learning Specialist. Apple Academy is a week-long intense program only held at the Cupertino campus in California. The focus is on effective coaching and professional learning skills needed to assist teachers with integration of technology into the classrooms and become certified Apple Teachers. Ms. Bothel has completed the Apple Teacher designation and has been accepted into the select Apple Academy to become an Apple Learning Specialist. We currently utilize Apple Professional Development services to provide the Apple Vanguard program for our teachers. The cost for this services through Apple is $50,000 per year. Sending Ms. Bothel will save us this yearly cost as she will be able to lead the professional development and certify our teachers through the Apple Vanguard program.

Cost of the Academy is as follows:
$4,995 - which includes hotel accommodations
$352 for meals
$1,000 approximate cost for air fare
$6,347 Total expenses.
