Summary: Annually, district and campus administrators utilize the district’s Strategic Plan goals and performance objectives approved by the School Board to develop, review and revise the district and campus improvement plans in collaboration with staff and respective planning committees (District-Wide Educational Improvement Committee-DWEIC and Campus Performance Objectives Committee-CPOC).

Comprehensive data analysis is essential in the determination of district and campus strengths and needs for improving student performance for all student groups. This data analysis is conducted through the Comprehensive Needs Assessment (CNA).

State and federal law both outline the requirement for schools to conduct a CNA as part of the planning and decision-making process. When conducted thoroughly, the CNA tool provides schools with identified strengths, weaknesses, and specific priorities for addressing student achievement and meeting challenging academic and performance standards. Under new leadership in 2017-18 and a commitment to move from compliance toward excellence, the district is researching best practices for continuous improvement to create a new framework for school improvement. In developing our 2017-18 District and Campus Improvement Plans, we conducted thorough analysis of our CNAs with a collaborative approach and goal of identifying root causes. Problem Statements were developed from our findings, which were used to develop strategies aligned to district goals to improve student learning.

As living documents, our District and Campus Improvement Plans are consistently updated throughout the year as we continue to refine our strategies to reach our desired outcome.

Attached are “drafts” of our 2017-18 DIP and CIPs for your review.
