2018-01-15 -Recommendation of Award for Sanitary Sewer Improvements to s....pdf
Summary: In 2008, we purchased the land from Briscoe Clark Company, LTD. where the current BRJCTE is located. Within that purchase, we also bought approximately 17 acres west of the CTE building abutting Floyd Hampton Road. As part of our purchase agreement, a Development and Reimbursement Agreement was included where each party would be required to fulfill certain obligations as the land was developed.

One such obligation was for the District to construct a meter station and sanitary sewer line from south of the CTE to the west over to Floyd Hampton Road. This sewer line will serve The Bridges subdivision as well as our elementary site located on the 17 acre tract. The agreement stipulates that the District will oversee the project, pay for the project in full initially and then be reimbursed 50% of actual cost by the developer upon completion.

Our Civil Engineer, Teague Nall and Perkins (TNP), performed the bid on our behalf and the bid tabulation is attached for your review. There were two responses from North Texas Contracting, Inc. and Wildstone Construction, LLC. North Texas Contracting submitted the lower proposal and TNP has worked with them several times in the past with great success.
Budgetary Impact: Initial payment by the District in the amount of $1,402,205.
Upon completion of the project, the District will be reimbursed 50% of this cost.
Funding will come from the Capital Bond Fund.
Recommendation: Action Item – Recommend award to North Texas Contracting, Inc. for sanitary sewer improvements serving the Bridges Addition as presented.
